A PRAYING WOMAN
Every woman needs to be a praying woman.
I have found solace in seeking first the kingdom of God; it
has helped my marriage a lot. I usually post prayer into my future and tell God
to please help me out when I get to that bridge, because I know in that stage I
maybe too weak to pray.
When my husband and I were courting, I had to leave to go
abroad to study, and I only came home during the summer breaks, and even then I
had to share him with my family and friends.
From the day we became friends, I remember bringing
him into my family alter and introducing him to God and from that day, we never
ceased praying together every mornings and evenings. We had this book which we
wrote our prayer request for us and for our future, I always took it with me
abroad and prayed both of our pages long request every Monday for 3 years until
my degree was over. I see those prayers working for me in my home; we have so
much peace, love, openness, and understanding. I remember praying every Monday that
distance will strengthen our relationship. Did we have arguments and disagreements
during those periods? Oh yes we did, but it only brought us together. I cannot say I did it on my own it was only
God grace that kept us.
I remember my elder sister talking to me about how prayer
works. She was pregnant for my sweet niece, and she would pray specific prayer
over her tummy, over her baby’s empty cot, over her stroller and over her life.
She prayed into her labour asking God to make it easy for her, she prayed that
my niece be adorable and very pretty, prayed that she will sleep in her cot and
how she did not want to gain weight during pregnancy and many other things. I
was with my sister during labour until she had my niece, ( tears of joy already
in my eyes again) I look at my niece today, she is pretty, she slept in her
cot, my sister did not gain weight but lost weight, did not have swollen nose
and swollen feet. What did all that for her? It was answered Prayer requests.
.
The first day I came home to “our home” I remember taking
anointing oil, and praying over my new home, I put oil at the door and said “Lord
this house is a house of peace we both will never run away from this house but
run into it”. I prayed peace and love and understanding and respect, and it is so.
At my place of work, I remember them telling me that the staff
were not on a monthly salary, that we get paid when we win cases. The first
day I went there, when everyone had left, I brought out my oil, and prayed and
poured oil on the ground, and said I am an open door in this place. And from
the first month till date, I have been paid an amount that is above what I and
my boss discussed will be my salary. What opened the door? my answered prayer and Gods favour.
We do not have children now, but I pray for my babies, pray
for them when they are in their teens, at school, when they will start relationships, I pray for
their spiritual lives, life partners, I pray for the nights they be
teething, keeping me awake at night, when they crawl, walk and so on, because I
know that those first 6 months will not be easy, but I have prayed ease into
them.
As a woman, it is your responsibility to put your house in
order and carry it, this you can only achieve when you have a relationship with
the Holy Spirit, who would direct you and give you strength to pray.
I am still learning every day, I hope I have inspired you to
pray and make your life easy. Pass on the message. God’s grace is available for
you, he has not given you a task too difficult for you that you cannot
overcome, when it is too much, he loves you and will provide a way out for you.
