IUD, LOOP, OR COIL INSERTION
Hello everyone,
I went to my GP to have the loop or coil or IUD fitted. This is 11 months after the the birth of our daughter.
I would advice that you take very strong pain killers at least half an hour before you go in for your appointment. I did have a very strong pain killer before I went in. Some people say that if you have had vaginal birth it would not hurt and stuff, however it did hurt me a bit, more like being uncomfortable. But I kept telling myself that the pain killers have kicked in, and that helped to relax me a lot.
So basically the procedure starts with a chat of about different contraceptive, I already knew that I wanted the loop because I had the implant and I gained a lot of weight. After the long talk, I was made to lay down, bend my knees and open wide, the clamp is inserted and it opened my cervix wide, the depth of my vagina was measured, the coil fitted in and the thread was trimmed, then the rest tucked in.
I am not sure what the problem was, however I had my periods some weeks later, and I alwats used tampons,or menstural cups. I had such heavy flow for day one which usually I would normally use pantie liners as it was not usuallt heavy for a first day, so by the end of the day I had used 6 pads.
On the 3rd day of my periods, the coil came out, not sure why, maybe it was not inserted properly. I did read that I could use tampons with the coil, but this one got expelled. I may try another hospital or Dr because this one when fitted, made my husband uncomfortable when we had sex, he could feel it. Maybe because the nurse did not trim the thread very short.
So for now, I will have to either stay on the pills or get an alternative.
I welcome thoughts.
Remain blessed.
