IUD, LOOP, OR COIL INSERTION
Hello everyone, I went to my GP to have the loop or coil or IUD fitted. This is 11 months after the the birth of our daughter. I would advice that you take very strong pain killers at least half an hour before you go in for your appointment. I did have a very strong pain killer before I went in. Some people say that if you have had vaginal birth it would not hurt and stuff, however it did hurt me a bit, more like being uncomfortable. But I kept telling myself that the pain killers have kicked in, and that helped to relax me a lot. So basically the procedure starts with a chat of about different contraceptive, I already knew that I wanted the loop because I had the implant and I gained a lot of weight. After the long talk, I was made to lay down, bend my knees and open wide, the clamp is inserted and it opened my cervix wide, the depth of my vagina was measured, the coil fitted in and the thread was trimmed, then the rest tucked in.
